MediaSmarts is Canada’s bilingual centre for digital media literacy. A registered charity, MediaSmarts has been conducting research, developing resources and advancing digital media literacy since 1996. Digital media literacy is the ability to critically, effectively and responsibly access, use, understand and engage with media of all kinds. MediaSmarts offers a wide range of tools and resources to help parents and caregivers raise media-smart kids. From managing screen time to building critical thinking skills and navigating online safety, their content is designed to support families in today’s connected world. MediaSmarts provides:

You’ll be glad to know that the adults have been located! Enter: MediaSmarts. MediaSmarts is a Canadian registered charity that has been conducting research and creating media guidance resources since the early 90’s! We leaned on their expertise during our recent partnership with Google wherein we supported parents in safeguarding their kids’ online access points; after that we knew we had to get them on the RMx directory so we could better highlight the work they do to support parents, caregivers and educators.
