One of Toronto’s most sought after photographers, Scarlet O’Neill has been capturing couples, families, weddings and more for over a dozen years. The ace in her pocket is her innate talent for blending seamlessly into family dynamics and being an excellent third wheel for couples shoots – making people feel so comfortable that they forget she’s there at all, allowing subjects to fully relax into the moment.
Scarlet is a mother, wife, dog mama, documentarian, artist, friend, and mentor - a woman of many hats, putting her heart into each one. She finds inspiration in the quirks and desires of the people she photographs and in the little and big ways they live their lives. In her own words:
“I want to be remembered by my work—creating images that bring you back to those moments. I want to be remembered for making you see what really matters, and helping you stop time and live in that moment.”
If you’ve asked us for a photographer recommendation in the last half decade, we’ve probably directed you to Scarlet. She comes to the table full of energy and ideas, excited to guide you toward the best photos of your life. She’s photographed us as The Rebel Mama and she’s captured us with our partners and kids and no matter what, the final product always blows us away. She's sneaky in the best way - always disappearing and reappearing, suggesting ways to interact, nudging you toward the best light and the most magical angles. Though we cannot confirm, we suspect she’s got a little fairy dust in that camera bag of hers… just a hunch.
