New year, same us. If you’ve been in The Rebel Mama community for a while, you know that we are always looking for ways to help and support moms in the GTA. In 2025, we’re stepping up those efforts by partnering with two amazing charitable organizations in the city: The Diaper Bank of Toronto (which you may remember from our Cool To Be Kind initiative of 2020) and The Love Club (a new grass roots initiative that manufactures baby clothing out of high quality end of roll fabric and donates it directly to charity partners).

There are an unspeakable number of parents in the GTA who are struggling to provide basic needs for their children and we are so grateful to organizations like The Diaper Bank of Toronto and The Love Club for doing what is within their power to close the gap and support families from the bottom up.

Here’s what you need to know about each of them:

The Diaper Bank of Toronto helps fill a critical and otherwise unmet need for diapers among the most vulnerable in our community. The Diaper Bank believes that clean diapers are a basic need for babies and their caregivers. Yet 1 in 4 children in Toronto live in poverty and these families are at risk or have experienced diaper need.

The Diaper Bank partners with organizations that have direct experience and expertise working with high needs communities, particularly those located in Toronto’s inner suburbs, where child poverty is greatest.

The first drive in 2010 collected over 15,000 diapers, and the bank has been growing ever since.

The Diaper Bank also aims to raise awareness about the realities and effects of raising children in poverty.

The Love Club is a grassroots initiative providing new Baby clothing to established registered charities in the Greater Toronto Area.

The Love Club produces and donates their own line of baby clothing to those in need.

They use surplus fabric and skilled sewers on a pro bono basis to create their aptly named clothing line: “Club Kid”.

Clothing is a necessity that offers a sense of pride and dignity and The Love Club aims to clothe every baby with love.

The best way for you to support these incredible registered charities is through a simple cash donation. Families get the support they need, you get to know that you’ve helped your community (and you get a little tax write off as a Thank You). The Diaper Bank also has drop off locations where you can donate physical product so be sure to check that out if your baby is outgrowing your diaper stash.

Moving forward, you will see these initiatives infused into a number of our partnerships and initiatives. You’ll also receive little reminders of their existence on our social accounts and e-blasts – especially when they’re running low on funds and supplies.

Together we can make sure every family in the GTA knows that we’ve got them covered – literally and figuratively.
