I recently had the pleasure of chatting with our friends over at Apple about PRIVACY. Ahh the things that excite us these days.

The team was particularly proud, as they have been working tirelessly for the last couple of years to increase privacy on their devices and come up with new features that will protect users from data tracking and info sharing. Hallelujah!

Last week Apple launched their new Privacy Website which not only shares and demonstrates all the new features and improvements, but does so in a non-overwhelming way while making the user experience easy and seamless – all things they hold in very high regard.

Apple, as most of us know, is the leader in all things privacy and the iPhone was actually the only smartphone to pass privacy tests (and you know we love nothing more than an A+).

We’ll let the good people at Apple explain everything in their Privacy Overview here:
https://www.apple.com/ca/privacy/

From there you can continue to explore the features: https://www.apple.com/privacy/features/, and learn how you, as a user, remain in control of your data: https://www.apple.com/privacy/control/

But the main take-away was that most people have NO idea what they’re signing up for when they download and use an app (ahem – us included), and don’t understand the capacity to which their data is tracked, stored on servers, and used for third party marketing initiatives. This is especially important information for parents to be armed with, as kids are tech savvy at an earlier age but don’t yet grasp the value and importance of true privacy. The best part though? Apple customers don’t actually have to DO anything to reap the benefits. Your iPhone will already be protecting you and your identity via these new attributes and they are one of the only companies who does not actually store your data – which in itself is highly commendable.

All in all, developments like these are what keeps our faith in technology alive.

And with that, I’m gonna go ahead and take all my info and photos off Google drive now and hide under a rock. What a time to be alive.
