Most Monday nights you will find us wrapped up tight in a knit blanket in the furthest corner of the couch watching every GD new trailer on Netflix until it’s too late to watch a movie.

But last Monday night, we did something special. We attended George C‘s annual Margaret & George Charity Gala benefiting The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation – more specifically The Breast Cancer Reconstruction Program at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre  – featuring one of Italy’s hottest fashion exports: Redemption.

Event Chair (and Fashion Mom) Lisa Corbo put the aptly named “La Dolce Vita” event together with the support of her right hand gal, Sofia Corbo; Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation President, Michael Burns; Honourary Chair, Emanuelle Gattuso; PR Queen, Julia Perry, and the fabulous staff at George C Toronto.

If you know Lisa (or if you’ve ever died over her IG), you know everything was done with utmost attention to detail, complete with her signature sassy Italo-Aussie kick. There was antipasti for days and pasta galore; there were rich wines and cold gelato; there was a 5-piece band playing the Italian classics and a live tapestry painting by Mimmo Baronello – but the pièce de résistance was a fashion show by Redemption: one of the coolest contemporary Italian fashion brands on the scene.

When all was said and done, the power team behind the event was able to rest their head knowing that together they had raised over $450,000 for the Breast Cancer Reconstruction Program at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto, bringing the total amount of funds raised over the past near-decade’s worth of events to over $2million! Congratulations to the whole team and thanks again for having us at this stunning event for such a worthy cause.
