It’s officially the busiest travel time of the year and we want you to be well prepared.

We’ve teamed up with Toronto Pearson to share some of our hottest tips for family travel in 2022.

TIP 1: Take advantage of YYZ EXPRESS. If you’re travelling through Pearson Airport, you can now book your security screening time in advance at torontopearson.com. This service is available at Terminal 1 from 5 am to 1 pm and Terminal 3 from 2 pm – 10 pm. Appointment availability is limited. Reserve your spot early to get the time you prefer! We’ve linked to their website in our bio so hop on over there to learn more. Note that YYZ Express is not currently available for flights departing to the United States. WHICH BRINGS US TO….

TIP 2: Plan ahead for your US departures by downloading the Mobile Passport Control app, which will expedite your customs declaration process.

TIP 3: Make sure you have your airline app downloaded. It has the most up-to-date information about delays or – God forbid – cancellations.

TIP 4: We always try to fly carry-on only but if you must check luggage, make sure to pack all essentials in your carry-on – JUST in case.

TIP 5: Speaking of carry on, make sure you’re up to date with new carry-on regulations. Each airline has its own rules about the number and size of carry-on bags so you’ll want to check in with your airline (refer to Tip 3!) if you’re uncertain about what you can bring.

TIP 6: Check the new live wait times dashboard for real-time information ahead of arriving at the airport. Plan your home departure time accordingly.

TIP 7: If you want to plan further in advance, you’ll want to take a look at the peak travel times dashboard that was also introduced by Pearson, so passengers can look ahead to know if they’ll be passing through the airport during a busy period

TIP 8: When flying back to Canada, take advantage of Advance CBSA Declaration which lets you submit your customs and immigration declaration up to 72 hours in advance of flying into Canada, giving you a faster border experience and saving them time at Pearson. Passengers who complete Advance Declaration will have access to an Express Lane in the customs area, further saving them time

Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday season. And to anyone travelling to sunny destinations, please extra enjoy your vacation on our behalf.

Happy Trails!

xx RM
