Last Sunday, we took back Mother’s Day.

No pastels (except the sheer dress Nikita sported over black lingerie).

No brunch (we traded it for cocktails, french fries, and house music).

No kids (blame our cannabis education partner if you must).

NO GUILT.

It was a 2-hour escape from the mundane – a stroll through an adult theme park, complete with massages, plant medicine, healthy juice (+ vodka with which to spike said juice), dance parties, and a magical chair that delivers the equivalent of 12,000 kegals in 28 minutes. #NBD

The purpose of the event? To celebrate the evolution of The Rebel Mama.

We’ve got a NEW website, NEW branding, and a BRAND NEW HARDCOVER edition of our book. Hundreds of hours went into the redesign (shout out to our visual guru: Andrea Xavier), the website build (shout out to our pal Murray Owen), the strategy (shout out to our creative strategist / momager, Ariane Laezza) – and when you take a step back and look at it all, what you realize is that the only thing left to do before moving on to the next big thing is to CELEBRATE the current big thing. And that’s just what we did.

We started with a very clear mission and stuck with it until the end: to spoil the shit out of every person who walked through the doors of the stunning, airy studio space at The Stackt Market where we chose to celebrate, and we were lucky enough to have some incredible event partners who were as committed as to the cause as we were.

BTL Emsella was on hand to demonstrate the magic that is the Emsella Chair (a.k.a. the only effective way to treat stress urinary incontinence with your clothes on). The “side effect”? According to our guests: An awakened vagina. Yeah, you heard me… A W A K E N E D. Happy Mother’s Day indeed. (Try it for yourself at Dr Trevor Born’s Truly Modern Beauty office on Avenue Road in Yorkville).

Aurora was there to support us in our bid to remove the taboo surrounding cannabis and motherhood. They answered people’s most pressing questions and educated us all about navigating strains, finding legal dispensaries, and safe usage. They taught us how to roll (with oregano) and sent everyone packing with joint-shaped cookies for the road.

Our friends from Greenhouse Juice Co. (did you know it’s #rebelmama owned and run?) kept everyone hydrated with the most beautiful variations of lemonade we’ve ever seen.

P.S. both their Lavender Lemonade and Blue Lemonade are now  officially available for purchase at Greenhouse Juice locations across the country (and they are delish!).

Wellcalm – known for their on-demand in-home RMT services – kept everyone chill AF with their mobile massage station (which had an actual line up for the entire duration of the event).

And 69 Vintage kept us looking fresh to death on the grayest day (the shop has popped up at Stackt Market for the summer – GET YOU THERE for the best vintage finds in the city).

Finally, our sweet friend / fav naturopath, Jacqui Wilkins (aka Pashamama Medicines) was there creating the most beautiful cedar-based plant bundles out of ethically sourced materials and teaching everyone about sustainable plant medicine.

It was our idea of a Mother’s Day well spent: indulging, learning, and socializing – all without an ounce of guilt!

Thank you to everyone who came out through the pouring rain to help us celebrate the epic labour of love that was the total Rebel Mama rebrand. Thank you to Carmelinda DiManno for playing the best tunes. Thank you to our team for always helping us pull off the seemingly impossible (looking at you, Hersey!). Thank you to the Stackt crew for making the planning and execution of this event so easy and seamless. Thank you to Evio for upping our gift-bag game by adding their amazing, not-even-released-yet CBD face mask to the mix.  And thank you to everyone who has reached out with kind words of encouragement as we step into a new phase in Rebel Mama history. We’re so grateful for all of it.

See ya on the dance floor!
